The reason why I feel like writing again. I went with that switch because my research told me it was a good balance for gaming and typing. That was the start of the end. I would like to thank my brothers for getting me into this hobby and two shops, KBDfans and DailyClack. My top choice was the KBD67 mk II but it kept selling out a few minutes of it popping out on the kbdfans website.

I eventually gave up and got this instead. Switches: Cherry MX Black retooled.

This is another number two choice. So I did. Plate: Brass. Case: Tada68 plastic case. Basically the cheapest that I could get. As cool as the aluminum case would be, I plan to take this keeb to many places, and the weight of an alum case would just be a pain so plastic would do the trick. Have you heard about GMK keycaps?

Lots of group buys are setup to get a set. DailyClack saves my butt here having the Katakana keycap set. I love me some Japanese characters being a big otaku. The switches have yet to be lubed. Need to find the time in doing them. I have a strong feeling that I would make another one real soon.

Gut feelz. Your email address will not be published. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.I have a Tada68 high profile aluminum case. The quality of the foam was high and the laser cuts for the standoffs was spot on. However, there is a bit of a raised lip around the edge of the case that this foam overlapped. That made it too high on the edges and I couldn't get the PCB to fit with the foam.

I got another MKUltra foam for a different board and it worked great. Disappointed that this one didn't work. It's a sheet of foam, so there's not a ton the can be done right or wrong. The cutouts for keys and stabilizers were perfect, it's foam so some thin parts might shift a bit in shipping but once you get the keys in its fits like a glove, not overly tight and not flimsy loose.

It doesn't really make the keyboard quieter, just kills some of the reverberations making the keyboard sound less hollow and pingy. I guess I'd describe it making the keyboard less noisy, not more quiet. Biggest complaint would be that there's no screw holes, you can pretty easily get around this by getting things lined up and pushing a tooth pick through the mounting holes, then wiggle a little because foam will close up.

This worked alright but it does make lining the screw up. Marginally more difficult, so screwing the pcb down takes an extra couple minutes. I did have one screw where the treading got gunked up when it must have gripped some foam, this prevented the screw from screwing in so I just had to pull the screw out and remove the foam from the threads. It's really nitpicking at that point though. This is my second keyboard that I've put plate foam in, this time it's in my Tada 68 lo-profile with Aliaz 80g silent switches.

It's not "silencing foam" per say, it's not any quieter to my ear, but I lack a decibel-o-meter. However, it makes the typing experience feel so much better. The result is a more Topre like "thock" rather than a higher click. It's really satisfying, and your keyboard feels tighter and more solid when typing.

I'd highly recommend this foam, it's a very affordable way to up your typing experience a significant amount.

The Tray mount option does have screw holes and would have been the correct choice in this situation. Looks like somehow I sent you one without holes cut in it and you had to cut your own, sorry about that! Contact me and I'll make sure you get exactly the right foam in your case.Currency U. Ship From: CN. Shipping method.Today we have another sweet custom mechanical keyboard build for a client, and this is the Satisfaction 75 from CannonKeys. And inside we get a nice CannonKeys branded sleeve. We have our keyswitches which does not come with the kit. The PCB. An OLED panel. Some hardware. Bunch of o-rings.

And two knobs. Pretty nice, just a simple neoprene one with a mesh pocket at the front, which also had the rotary encoder in it. And yeh, the Satisfaction 75 is their first premium group buy, in which were made according to this card, which is quite big for a first buy actually. First impressions, everything looks in perfect condition. We can see some unique looking holes on the right side which is exciting. The bottom screws are fine for normal screwdrivers, but for the remaining ones, you will need a thin one to fit inside the holes.

And finally, the plate is screwed to the top piece, meaning that it is a top mount design, which in theory should provide a more even typing experience, and also potentially provide a slightly less harsh bottom out, in comparison to a typical tray mount design which has standoffs on the base.

The sandblasted finish looks perfect. We have an interesting flex cut design for the space bar. As we can see, it has a little bit of give towards the front, and that just softens that bottom out a touch in theory. Looks sweet, with a typical top mount design. So we have our screw holes for the plate, and holes to attach the bottom to the top. We also have 4 positioning pins just to help with aligning a little bit.

The bottom aluminium piece is pretty simple. And also another rectangle recess in the bottom right which gives clearance for a button battery. And finally the brass weight. And for reference, a typical retail full size mech is usually just over 1kg.

I think this is a first for me. The PCB was in an actual enclosed packet. Anyway here it is in blue, and we have the Rev 1. Again, some funky stuff happening in the top right corner.
